Aims & Objectives

​It is the objective of 1Accord Living LTD to provide care to all young persons to a standard of excellence which embraces fundamental principles of Good Care Practice, and that this may be witnessed and evaluated through the practice, conduct and control of quality care in the Home. It is a fundamental ethos that those young people who live in the Home should be able to do so in accordance with the Home’s Statement of Values, ref. Policy Statement of values.

​It is the objective of the Home that young people shall live in a clean, comfortable and safe environment, and be treated with respect and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities. Staff will be responsive to the individual needs of young people and will provide the appropriate degree of care to assure the highest possible quality of life within the Home.

To meet these client needs the Care Service within the Home is designed to achieve the following objectives:

  1. ​To deliver a service of the highest quality that will improve and sustain the young person’s overall quality of life.
  2. To ensure that the Care Service is delivered flexibly, attentively and in a non-discriminatory fashion while respecting each young person’s right to independence, privacy, dignity, fulfilment, and where appropriate the rights to make informed choices and to take risks.
  3. To ensure that each young person’s needs and values are respected in matters of religion, culture, race or ethnic origin, sexuality and sexual orientation, and disabilities or impairments.
  4. To ensure that the Care Service in whole is delivered in accordance with agreed Contracts for Care.
  5. To manage and implement a formal programme of staff planning, selection, recruitment, training and personal development to enable young person care needs to be met.
  6. To manage the Care Service efficiently and effectively to make best use of resources and to maximise value for money for the Young Person.
  7. To ensure that all young people receive written information on the Home’s Procedure for Handling Complaints, Comments and Compliments, and how to use it.

We are in the business of providing our clients with the support and guidance towards self-independence and sustainability. A future where a young person has gained the skills of self -sufficiency with a clear view of how to do things for themselves.

​Education & training – remains a primary target in our contribution to the future of young lives. We pay close attention to short and long term goals to mentor our clients into formal education or career/employment led training.

​Warm and engaging homes – We ensure our accommodation is fit for purpose. We believe that a comfortable dwelling nurtures a sense of stability which paves the way to personal skills development and wellbeing.

​Safeguarding also tops the list as one of our priority targets. Every young person placed in our care will be safeguarded against any form of risk or situations that may be harmful to their wellbeing. The Safeguarding manager and staff are well trained in identifying risks and how to protect our clients. We work well with multi agencies to ensure safety and wellbeing are at the top of the agenda.
